Story

For the second short film of Mark we composed an original score, and created foley, sounddesign and the final mix.

As a taxidermist, ‘Mister B’ mainly spends his time pouring exotic insects into Perspex. He doesn’t care about them at all, but is in awe of the beauty of butterflies. When he receives a special order by mail, his meticulously planned experiment can finally ‘take wing’ and the personally tailored cocoon that he has built in his basement can now be used for his own ‘chrysalis’, the metamorphosis towards what he perceives as his most ideal appearance. Something went wrong in the calculations and ‘Mr. B’s’ transformation takes a lot longer than planned, so that he eventually bursts out of his pupa in a completely different form. While trapped in the basement, he is confronted by the foreman of a construction crew, checking the grounds before it is to be flooded with quick drying cement. He wants nothing to do with this monstrosity and gives the sign to his workers that ‘All is clear’.
